Nighthawk XR500 intermittent wifi connection issues
I've had an XR500 coming up on 5 years now, and lately I've noticed that devices will just stop connecting via wifi. I have a Google Chromecast with GoogleTV and it will just start telling me there is no network connection, and refuses to connect to the wifi for the router. Even though my phone, laptop, and other devices using the wifi still work. I just checked and I'm on the most recent firmware version (V2.3.2.134). I've also been having this happen with my phone as well. Just will not connect to the wifi even though it was connected like an hour prior to my issue. Is it time to just get a new router? I was hoping this would last a bit longer, but technology is as technology does I guess. It will pretty much fix the issue if I reboot the router. But instead of having to do that every few months, I'm having to do it almost monthly now.

- microchip8MasterWhen was the last time you did a factory reset and configure from scratch?
Within the past year. I updated the firmware and something happened so I factory reset everything.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerOkay keep us updated!
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerDo you have Smart Connect enabled or disabled? Does it work better with either?
It is enabled. I'll try disabling it and see if that makes a difference. Thanks.
Ah--I didn't realize when I disabled that, the "SSID+5G" would come on. That's annoying lol. I have to change everything to use the 5G now (if they can). We were having massive printing issues last night and I realized my wife's laptop connected to the 5G network and the printer was on the regular SSID name. I'll keep trying.
