Nighthawk xr500 slow internet (wired & Wifi)
I upgraded from a Netgear AC1750 to the Nighthawk XR500. I immediatley noticed reduced internet speed both on LAN & through the Wifi. Prior to swapping out the routers, I was getting LAN (download) speed of 200-250 mbps and Wifi speed of of 80 -> 160 mbps. On the new XR500, I am getting dramatically less speed on the same devices - LAN speed of 25 mbps and Wifi speed of 30 -> 60 mbps (Wifi faster than LAN? WTF?). All settings on the new router are set to default. Considering this is a $300 router, I was expecting the same speeds as before or a small improvement. A speed drop of over 50% is absolutely ridiculous & unacceptable. Any advice as to what I can do to improve this garbage internet speed? I've tried power cycleing the modem & router as well as the indiviudal devices connecting to the router.
The only reason I bought this router was so I could track the data usage of each device on my network. I cant even figure out how to do that, beyond seeing the usage in real time. Not sure where the overall usage per day, week, month, overall data is shown at.... Any advce one that would be great.

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerYou will need to put your bandwidth speeds into the Anti-Bufferbloat options on the QoS page then with default settings you should be able to reach full speeds. If not disable QoS completely in Anti-Bufferbloats' options, does that resolve it?
You cannot track your usage beyond real time, this has not been advertised as a feature. Was there somewhere you heard that you could do that currently? We'll likely bring that functionality at a later date but not currently available.- CameojoeAspirant

thank you for the reply. However, I had already set my bandwidth speeds in the Anti-Bufferbloat option during setup (300 down & 50 up, though ive played with these numbers since without much, if any, change to my speed tests). I also tried to to disable QOS completly with no effect on the speed test as well. Any other suggestions I can try? This is beyond frustrating.
As for the device monitoring, I must have skimmed through the features a bit too quickly. I was under the impression the network monitoring was real time and cumulative. Is there any router that offers that out of the box or do they all require third party firmware mofification to gather that info?

Sometimes when a new router is introduced to the network your ISP can take a little while to accommodate and you can receive slower speeds during this time. You can either wait a few days for it to work itself out or you can usually trick it by setting the XR500 to the MAC address of your previous router in Internet Setup.
Just real time at the moment but cumulative is on our roadmap but I can't give you a timeframe on this. There likely is but I'm just familiar with Netgear/Netduma routers.
