Same problems with R7500
This is incredibly rare to happen on the XR500.
DJdubstep - do you know if your connection uses PPPoE (where you use a username and password to get online)?
If you haven't already, try rebooting your modem, then rebooting the XR500, and see if that then connects.
Worst case, give official NETGEAR support a call. They are very experienced at troubleshooting this initial Internet setup: https://www.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx
- I just found out that my isp does not use a PPPoE, but I also read something that I may need to release the dhcp of the old router, and give the new router access. Do you have any tips or ideas? I think this may be the issue, and I will report if this is successful.
That's something you would need to do on your modem. Do you know the make and model? Worst case just factory reset the modem (if it has the option to!)
