Ping unusually high

I live in Perth area Western Australia and when i connect to Battlefield 5 servers via my PS4 i get a steady 58 ping which is what my mates get along with me in Western Australia.

 

Today when i logged into a Singapore server due to no Aussie servers my ping jumps to a steady 271 whilst my mates ping is a steady 55.

 

Any ideas on what i could do to sort this out, ive had a fiddle with geo settings etc. but to be honest ive no idea what im doing hahaha!

    Sounds like your friend is still connecting to the Aus servers when you're on the Singapore server as I highly doubt you'd get 55ms to Singapore. If you put ping assist to 60ms with your home location in the ocean does that force the Aus servers?
