Possible firmware upgrades including DumaOS for older model Nighthawk routers?
What are the chances that y’all will release the DumaOS software for other Nighthawk models? I purchased a Nighthawk X8 to use with my netduma r1 router when it came out. I’d really like to be able to...
There are many factors when it comes to router HW and FW. Not all FW is compatible with different model HW. NetDumaOS is specific to the HW they picked and developed for. So not all NG HW will be compatible and I presume from marketing and development stand points, is reasons why. Router developement life cycles are kept to minimums and don't last forever. Only when most important issues arise would some updates be made availalbe. These is seen in other router Mfrs cycles as well. Nature of the beast.
If your router is working, would be nothing to update anyways.
Just got off the phone with customer service and it’s not only been discontinued but it will no longer receive any further firmware updates!!! What the deal Netgear!?! That router cost a lot and it’s barely 2 years since it’s been released! Anyone else hear anything on this and/or a possible solution other than dd-wrt?
