r7000 The firmware is not compatiable with your router. Error code -2.

a couple things there.
1. The MB8600 is a modem router combo device. Is it in modem only/passthrough mode? or the netgear in AP (access point) mode?
if not, you're in a double nat. That can cause issues/slow downs.

2. The agreed upon stable version for the R7000 is 1.0.9.42. When you download it, make sure to extract it. Many don't extract the file.

My modem is actually a cable only modem and not a modem-router so I did not have to do anything with that BUT I tried downloading 1.0.9.42 and it appears to have installed without a hitch (unlike 1.0.9.32) so I hope my problem is fixed and will update this post if it does not. Thanks for the help.
