Cannot connect to most EU community servers in Valve Games
Having issues with connecting to most if not all EU community servers in CS2 and even other games. I am using a XR1000v2 and its firmware is upto date, and strict mode on geo filter is already disabl...
so ive found the solution. recently a online safety act was passed in the uk, which is interfering with the connection of certain ips which can only be bypassed via vpn etc.
I reset it via DumaOS too. I held the reset for around 10 seconds. The modem is an Adtran ONT. The issue started a few days back
Does the ONT have WiFi at all? Hold the reset for 30 seconds. Did the issue occur after anything specific, any change in settings or physical setup etc?
the ont doesnt have wifi, but bypassing the router allows me to enter the servers no problem, the modem has been reset, even had a call with the isp and they reset from their side too. The issue occured specifically after resetting the router when i noticed the speed was around 200mbps when it should be around 1k, even now im getting 600mbps avg, but the larger issue is not being able to connect. i have updated to 1.1.0.16_2.1.25, via the dumaOS, and even downloaded manually the 1.1.0.22 but there was no change, even the 1.1.0.16 has the same issue. the 1.1.0.22 firmware seemed more weird as the statistics on priority etc werent displaying at all or not properly. Currently, after connecting via phone instead of only on pc to the router for the app, the software is 1.1.0.16_2.1.25.
After a reset what settings are you changing before trying the game?
ive messed around with geo filter, maxing out the distance, the strict mode, auto ping host, fast search. ive also played around with the qos and priority modes. thats really it. ive found its most of the countries in eu that i cant connect to. however some countries i can, like russian servers and a few others that are further. i also for some unknown reason get 110 ping on stockholm servers when im in the uk. and only one german server i can connect to, none of the others work
Right okay so just to clarify - can you connect to official steam CS2 servers? It's just specific community servers? Could be a NAT issue, set NAT to Open in WAN Settings and see if that resolves it please
no there is also an issue with official servers, where i get kicked sometimes and it will say, server not found, the region usually being germany again. I have changed NAT to open and retried and it didnt work too
Found this potential solution online: "let the server browser finish searching completely before attemping to connect to a server."
ive tried it before, and again now. it doesnt work.
Another suggestion was to add the server to favorites and then connect to it rather than using the steam://connect link dirtectly if that is what you're doing
ive tried most of the online solutions thoroughly. it just says the ip was not found.
