COD BO4 Multiplayer Issue
Hi, Since couple of weeks, I can not play with any Call of Duty Game (BO4, WW2, etc.) It says no connection with COD servers. I checked it from PC, PS4, XBOX, the problem is the same, can't connect...

I disabled QoS completely in the Anti-Bufferbloat 3 line menu. Nothing has changed regarding the game. The game is not connecting to COD online services or servers. While I am connected to the console network, but not connect to COD servers. I can see in the game...just waiting for connect to COD servers.. I don't really understand why only COD servers, and Why only when I use my XR500 router. :( I love this router, but I can not imagine why happened this..

This is so weird. Could you try downgrading the firmware and see if it's working on the previous firmware: https://kb.netgear.com/000060127/XR500-Firmware-Version-2-3-2-32
If it is, then upgrade back again. I'm wondering if something broke when your new firmware auto-installed.

Thanks the hints!
Unfortunately, it is not working......
I have downgraded my router from XR500 V2.3.2.40 to XR500 V2.3.2.32.Nothing has changed , no connection COD servers. I let this firmware version, if you have any idea. If not , I will set back the latest firmware version XR500 V2.3.2.40
Now I really don't know what to do and what is the next step.. I tried I think everything 1 week with Activision We tried everything , Couple of days with my ISP, and now with Netgear support. but I still have hope.. PLease let me klnow your idea, and thank you in advance your efforts - FURRYe38May 02, 2019Guru - Experienced User
Are you sure the modem is in modem mode or NAT mode is disabled?
What is the IP address your getting on the XR500 on it's WAN port? ##.##.###.### or a 192 or 10 IP address?

Cable modem is not in Router Mode. It has two option Roter Mode (YES/NO) so NO.
My understanding :
Router Mode: Choose Yes to activate the NAT and switch the gateway into router mode. Choose No to deactivate the NAT and switch the gateway into bridge mode.Should I set back it Router Mode? I think that is not working also. ISP said my Cable modem should bi in no router mode if I use my connected own router

Try this, set the modem back to router mode. Be sure the LAN IP address should be 192.168.0.1 for the modem/router. Then connect the XR router to the modem. Find the IP address the XR is getting from the modem and reserve this ON the modem. Then input this into the modems DMZ. Reboot both modem and XR router. While you reboot the modem and XR router, press and hold the power button on the front of the xbox until it shuts off. After the modem and XR router are back to ready, verify internet access with a PC or mobile device. If good, power on the xbox and check NAT status on the networking settings then check BO4 for connetion.

Thanks!
I did everything as you recommended, I had checked XR500 IP, and put it as reserved IP into Cable Modem , after set it DMZ. I have NAT Type 2 everything is working except COD. It is not working, I give it up :(
In Summary:
- CoD Multiplayer servers are available only if I use ISP Cable Modem only - (but I would like to use my own XR500 gaming router because that is much better)
- any other multiplayer game is working with XR500, no problem at all
I followed every hints and advice, but no solution.. - FURRYe38May 02, 2019Guru - Experienced User
Do you happen to have a different router by chance?
CoD does work while your console is connected to the modem in router mode right?
Possible your XR router needs to be replaced. You seem to be the only one with this problem.
- MRoweMay 02, 2019Guide
I also tried out my older Netgear Wndr 3800 router. It did not worked.. but I give a chance for it.
Let you know what happened...... - Netduma-FraserMay 02, 2019NetDuma Partner
If it's not working with another router, is it at all possible that you've been banned? Do you have another account/console you could try with?
- MRoweMay 02, 2019Guide
It's getting more and more fun, I replaced the XR500 for Netgear WNDR 3800. I the proble is the same. The game says "cannot connect to any COD servers" I can't belive this. It shouldn't be so mysterious, numbers and network layers, packets.. but it is getting like a Jedi mind trick
I don't really understan the whole thing I gave up...
Anyway, thanks for everybody who try to help me
Thanks to you...

"is it at all possible that you've been banned?" I never did anything that I should be banned. and if so, then why cod multiplyer profile and servers is working under Cable Modem? If I use only ISP Netgear Cable Modem I can play with COD in multiplayer...
- MRoweMay 02, 2019Guide
Additional info: MY friend also tried out his PS4, that is not XBOX, and with his profile, but He only could play when we used my Netgear ISP cable modem, the situation is the same with his different profile and different console...
- Netduma-FraserMay 02, 2019NetDuma PartnerIn that case it sounds like your modem is not correctly passing traffic through to your routers. Either you have a very strict firewall on it or port forwarding has been done to a different device, something of that nature.
- MRoweMay 02, 2019Guide
Maybe I will ask ISP to replace it for new one.. I don't really know what else I can do....
- Netduma-FraserMay 02, 2019NetDuma PartnerFactory reset the modem first, then reboot the router a few minutes after then try again
- FURRYe38May 02, 2019Guru - Experienced User
After the reset on the modem and set the modem for modem mode, see if this helps. If not, then I would recommend that you change out the modem for a newer stand alone modem with out a built in router and wifi, that your ISP supports and that you can buy. First see what they support and buy accordingly.
See if your ISP supports NGs CM 1000/1100 or Arris SB 6183 or SB8200 or Motorola MB 7420 or 8600. All these are stand alone cable modems. No router built in.
- MRoweMay 04, 2019Guide
I reseted my XR500, and My ISP Cable Netgear Modem. I set back Router Mode on ISP cable modem.
I can only play with one solution if I plug my Console into my ISP Cable modem (then Consile service workingm and any COD multiplayer also working properly). and any other tools are on my XR500, however it didn't make much sense to buy a professional game router.
I ask my ISP that he supports any other Cable Modem he said "no". That is all what I can do now. I still don't understand this situation. Anyway thank you (and everybody) for supporing me here... - Netduma-FraserMay 04, 2019NetDuma PartnerModem mode would be best so it can easily forward all the traffic to the router. Do you get your full speeds through the router? If you do then it's quite confusing.
- MRoweMay 04, 2019Guide
Sorry I have to correct what I wrote, When I plug my console into ISP Cable modem that set as No Router MOde, in this case the COD multi is working properly, but if I set my ISP modem for Router MOde the COD Multiplayer is n ot working again....
- MRoweMay 04, 2019Guide
My question is If I use my console plugged into ISP Netgear Cable Modem set as non router mode, is it safe?
I have checked in this case the NAT type and the game says is Strict, but I can play in multiplayer properly.
What should I ask from my ISP? How to solve this?
My aplologies for my massive questions but I can't play properly for three weeks, and my good gameing roter can't handle this ... :( I don't know what to do.. so sad.. - Netduma-FraserMay 04, 2019NetDuma PartnerSo the modem only works in modem mode not even router mode and you get get a strict NAT console direct in modem mode? That is really very strange and not at all what should happen. I would have a look online to see if you can use a different modem with your ISP, sometimes they say they don't allow it even though you can.
- MRoweMay 04, 2019Guide
This is the true
"So the modem only works in modem mode not even router mode and you get get a strict NAT console direct in modem mode?"
I used my older router Netgear WNDr 3800, it was the same, not worked. And as I wrote that It only wroks if my ISP router modem is in non router mode, or using my mobile 4G as a hotspot.. no any other option - Netduma-FraserMay 04, 2019NetDuma PartnerWho is your internet service provider? Even in modem mode with the router behind it then it still doesn't like that?
- MRoweMay 04, 2019Guide
Their name is HWR. (hwr.hu)
- FURRYe38May 04, 2019Guru - Experienced User
What is the mfr and model of the ISP Modem?
Does this modem have a DMZ when in router mode?
Sounds like there is a problems at the ISP modem or ISP services...
- Netduma-FraserMay 04, 2019NetDuma PartnerI'm not getting any results for it searching for it in English, have a look online there are probably people who have used another modem with that provider.
