I am from Chile(South America), I searched in the forums how to change the Region Lock but I didnt undertand how to do it via telnet.... the router was bought through Amazon.com, I have been facing a...

as schumaku said it will not work perfeclty, in fact I have heavily disconnections on my wifi every day, which is really bad...I cant return the product because I have to pay the shipping which cost much more than the product itself, you should provide a firmware for south america because lock in it is not good for consumers, specially if you sell trough amazon and they sell it worldwide...

Again, I'm not Netgear, so I don't know how and if Netgear does business in the South Americas. Some countries like Brazil are very difficult to deal with, putting up extremely high taxes on the products, unless some major parts of the production and the assembly in done within the country.
As I mentioned before, most world-wide markets receive wireless model variants with worldwide code inside (the firmware is the same - the details are taken from the product factory config!) so the legislation (== country of deployment) can be selected.
