Use 10Gb port for LAN Nighthawk
Is it possible to use the 10Gb LAN SFP port as LAN w/o internet?
I was wondering about this too. I picked up a Netgear AXM765 for the Nighthawk XR700 and a Nighthawk SX10 for my home office in another room to get the start of a 10 gigabit intranet going. I saw nothing in the manual to indicate the SFP+ port was limited to LAN only... I can't get a signal when I connect the SX10 to the AXM765 though, which led me here.
If that is the case and it's WAN only it sure would've been nice of Netgear to mention the router's 10 gigabit is limited to talking to your modem only when advertising the XR700 has 10 gigabit capability.
I have sx10 on the 10gb sfp+ and works like a charm.
