VPN tunnel between 2 XR1000
I usually play Call Of Duty on PS and I almost always play in a party with a friend. We live about 350 miles apart and we get similar pings with the servers around us but sometimes we have to play whi...

More likely the other way around, servers can sometimes be labeled as peers but that won't affect the connection either way. You can zoom in further and then draw the polygon, it won't be peers you're picking up. Ping Heatmap shows all the servers the game has, sometimes when playing some may be offline for maintenance or full etc. You will only see servers when searching for a game.

I have zoomed all the way to the max and it is still covering a huge area especially the polygon is only allowing a certain way of placing the connecting dots. Overall I am very disappointed with the fact that nobody thought of a way of using the filtering while in a party, my friend and I bought each a very expensive router than we have to compromise on the game quality.
Also the interface is acting up at times and I don't get the idea of having a 3 CPU when it almost always stays at 0%.
Lastly do you think I would get any benefits from pairing the XR1000 work a cable modem like CM1000 is it going to help in any way??
Thank you.

You are very far away from each other, that distance is always going to be a problem regardless of your internet or the devices you use. With the Geo-Filter at least you can use it to find a server between you that gives you both a decent experience. It's not that we haven't thought of it, you can allow your friends and force different servers, what you want is pretty much impossible. The best way as I mentioned is to find a server between you. That is what me and my friend do who lives in Japan and it works very well. The 3rd is for packet acceleration so you won't always see that being used. No I doubt that would help at all - the ping differences in the local network are minimal - 1ms usually.
