The first time this happened I actually went and plugged into the modem directly to see if it was the culprit, my internet access was then restored. I plugged the modem back into my router and while all devices were connected to the router, there was no internet.
I'm running a Motorola E31U2V1 modem on Spectrum Internet w/ 200dl and 15up.
edit: There also never seem to be outages in my area and switching to my previous router seems to eliminate the issue.

did you reboot the modem after changing what was connected to it?
- SharkKnightJun 16, 2020Tutor
Yes, anytime I make a change I go ahead and reboot both.
- plemansJun 16, 2020Guru - Experienced UserThe hard part with that modem is that spectrum locks down the signals page so users can't check their own basic signal info. Your left relying on spectrum and they always say "our line is fine must be the router".
did you try a new cable?
Have you tried contacting support? are you still within your warranty?
you can click "mynetgear' at the top, register an account and then the device and check warranty status.- SharkKnightJun 16, 2020Tutor
Yep, tried new cables. The only way to check the signal was to plug directly into the modem, and everytime I did that the internet seemed to be working. It's why I chalked it up to a router issue. Bought the router two months ago so I believe I'm still within warranty, I'll talk to support. Thank you so much!
