Xr 500 not getting internet from modem

If I unplug the ethernet cable directly from modem to my PS4 it works but when i try to route it through my nighthawk xr500 the internet led blinks orange and no internet or wifi at all? I tried to factory reset and powered both items off to try to "reset" them. This set up worked fine for 3 months till now?

    What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too? Built in router by chance?

    Modem Combo Units:
    Couple of options,
    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.
    3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

      Great advice from Furry, I would try that. It's odd though you don't have a connection after a factory reset. Does your connection use PPPoE by any chance? Make sure you are entering your connections in correctly if so.
