XR1000 Firmware Update

As above it could be they've forgotten to push the update or in some cases they may want to see how the firmware is received before pushing it to the masses to prevent customer wide issues for example. That update is primarily a security update so I would recommend updating to it, you don't have to do the factory reset if you don't want to but if you then encounter issues I would suggest doing one as your first troubleshooting step.
