XR1000 Packet Loss while gaming
Hello, I recently bought this router so I could connect to lower ping servers from my area, Ohio. My current internet speeds are 400 mbps Down and 20 mbps Up. I'm still learning all of the QoS funct...
- Jun 15, 2021Okay that's good, the router doesn't appear to be reporting any packet loss so it could be the server itself. When you notice the packet loss, try forcing a different server with the Geo-Filter and see if it disappears.

Netgear provided me with 10055 firmware and also had me run command prompt. Run the command "ping www.google.com -f -l 1500" if that fails, retype the command and instead of 1500, type 1492. If that fails, type 1472 (passes for me). Luckily I didn't return the XR1000 yet. Will be testing this. I changed MTU size in router settings to 1472. They say this should stop the fragmented packets causing internet loss. This is the first time I've ever had to change MTU as previously owned routers were at 1500 MTU. He said it's possible the 1472 MTU could work with current version 10052.
