XR1000 QOS for gigabit
So I have Xfinity internet with 1200 download and about 40-43 upload. I live in a smart home so I usually have 25 plus devices connected to the internet with only 4-5 of them being inactive on the net...

And another reason why I use QOS despite the fact I have gigabit download speed is because I have so many devices on my internet which gives me lots of bufferbloat and it hinders my online gaming experience. Almost makes it aggravating to even play or enjoy gaming.

Yeah I would say go with 900, that seems about average based on what you're saying. Then set Congestion Control to Always and experiment with the percentages to see what works best for you, we usually suggest 70% for download/upload as a starting point and go from there.
- Rome916Jun 01, 2023AspirantHey I’ve also heard that duma os is beta testing new QOS software for the R2. Do you have any idea if the new features will land on the xr1000?
- Netduma-FraserJun 01, 2023NetDuma PartnerThat will be the idea, assuming NG are wanting it (don't see why they wouldn't). It's in a sort of Alpha stage at the moment so very new, getting a lot of testing on it.
- Rome916Jun 01, 2023AspirantAlso another question sorry to bother but I’m just trying to get this QOS sorted out. I downloaded the speed test app for windows and I ran about 14-16 tests and it shows that my average speed is 856 and a constant 41-42. I know you said to set it to 900 as my download speed tests consists of it being in the 860-947 range. Do you think it will be more optimal to set it to 856-41 or 900-42? I’ve heard that you never want to put your full speeds for QOS to work properly. Instead using congested speeds but since I have a fluctuating speed it’s kind of hard to determine what to select.
