XR1000 tried tftp firmware upgrade but the power light never flashes orange

Question

I've tried to tftp the firmware update to my XR1000 router, which I was doing based on previous threads regarding RAPPs which don't load repeatedly. In the instructions, it says to power off the router for 10 seconds, turn it back on, then wait for the power light to flash orange. However, mine never flashes orange. It's orange for a while then just turns white. I tried this several times and always the same results. At no point does it appear the router will accept the firmware payload via tftp during the boot cycle.

Am I missing something obvious? Is there a step missing in the tftp instructions?

So TFTP and NMRP is not needed or recommended for updating FW on XR series routers. Only needed if and when the router is in some bad state. Only update the router using the WEB UI.&nbsp;https://kb.netgear.com/23960/How-do-I-manually-update-the-firmware-on-my-NETGEAR-router

This is the proper way to update NG routers in normal operation.&nbsp;
