XR1000 upload qos not working/broken
To be very honest, the XR1000 has been a disaster from the start. with little to no updates, and updates not even fixing the main issues. idk if this issue will be fixed because i see so many people ...
i mentioned PPPoE because in my ISP modem web page there is a place where is shows " PPPoE username" and it shows a username. so im guessing it is an option i can use. im not to sure. i dont need it for my routers to work automatically but to my knowledge it is something i can use, but not to sure. but i dont think that is a main issue because QOS upload will work on other older routers but they are old and buggy. i bought the XR1000 for the features and labelled gaming router but it has always had so many bugs and QOS upload does not work. it gets annoying when you read other topics and no troubleshooting works after you have to go through the annoying process of downgrading, resetting to default, upgrading, resetting to default, changing this, changing that and still nothing. its just the router. on top of that the QOS isnt all that great i dont think because on my other routers i can test on Waveform Bufferbloat and get an A+ with no more than +5 on download or upload congestions. when i use XR1000 i get +60ms on download and +259ms on upload congestions. its just not a good implementation and i would expect more from one of the pioneers of gaming routers. netgear has always been the talks for routers amongst gaming and having an advantage since Call of Duty Black Ops 3. but the XR1000/DumaOs isnt doing justice for me and a lot of others it seems like.
Understood, if the XR1000 isn't handling PPPoE then it won't be that causing it. Are you using IPv6 at all? Can you provide a screenshot of your QoS page please? Traffic Prioritization can also skew those tests. Bufferbloat also only occurs when your connection is saturated, with QoS active that can never happen.
not using ipv6 at all. ive tried everything, all ways ive seen in other posts. Share excess on or off, download share excess on or off, upload share excess on or off. one or the other. auto enable or always on. Duma classified games on or off, setup PC as games console on or off. different % for devices or applications. it is 100% the router and i honestly dont think there is a fix. i know this is a common problem amongst many and i guess i would like to understand why this happens with the XR1000 and not other routers? what is the problem the XR1000 is having compared to other routers that would cause this kind of problem?
again the percentages i use in the photos are the same i use on other router and i get A+ on waveform bufferbloat with upload and download congestion not going past +5ms. when i use the XR1000 my waveform bufferbloat comes out a D with download congestion going to 60ms+ and upload 259ms+. not good
