Xr300 Nighthawk setup issue

I WANT my router to give med the best possible speeds for my gaming expirience on my PS4. Only issue is my modem is in my livingroom and my gamingsetup is in my bedroom. I just WANT to know if i can setup my router and when it’s done just take it off and take it to my room. Does it work or am i supposed to let it be connected to the modem?

    You have to have it connected to the modem otherwise it has no way to connect to the internet. You can leave it in the living room and use 2.4GHz WiFi and it will be quite good - better to be connected via ethernet but if it isn't possible that would be fine.
