XR500 - UPnP / DHCP renewal issue?
Hi there, Been having an issue for the last couple of weeks where my internet is being dropped for a few minutes, usually on the back of a DHCP lease renewal. I don't always need to power cycle t...

Sorry to hear this!
Could you please let us know what firmware version you're currently running? This issue appears to be less prominent with the new beta verisons of our firmware.
Do you notice any disconnections when your laptop is not connected at all, or does this only seem to occur when the laptop is actively using the internet?
- KelloggsMay 04, 2021AspirantHey Liam - thanks forgetting back to me.
I’m on the latest - the .114 firmware.
I feel the problem child is the laptop, because I haven’t seen the Upnp log before. But there are a few other devices that seem to be problematic with the DHCP renewal.
It’s probably a separate issue- and not related ti the DHCP stuff, but do you know of any router setting that could be problematic with corporate firewalls? I wonder if that’s causing the UPnP log (I’ve reset the laptop and power cycled the router and I’m still seeing the same issue).- Netduma-FraserMay 04, 2021NetDuma PartnerThe reserved IPs you've made, I would suggest for DHCP you change the starting IP address so this is after the IPs you've set as reserved. For example, if you've set a few devices as reserved ending with .5 - .15 then set the starting IP at .16. That way when the DHCP lease renews it should completely ignore the IPs you've set and hopefully prevent the issue occurring.
You could try disabling QoS fully in the Congestion Control menu and see whether that makes any difference.- KelloggsMay 05, 2021Aspirant
Thanks Fraser - I'll try re-jigging the IPs as suggested and see if that helps. Was the QoS suggestion a troubleshoot for the renewals as well, or was that in relation to the UPnP?
Re: the UPnP issue - that log entry has now disappeared. My employer has opened up the firewall for most applications, meaning we dont need to VPN in - so I wasn't. When I connected with the VPN to access the applications we can't access without it - the UPnP log disappeared - and so did my issues with Teams / video conferencing (regardless of whether I am connected to the VPN).
You might have a better idea of why this might of worked than I!
I still haven't been able to crack why my wifes corporate laptop / firewall doesn't like our network - had to set up another router for her to use. You guys are a ****load more responsive and helpful than Microsoft!
