The router is fine i have discovered the modem cm1000 is failing. I went to setup my nighthawk x6 back up. The x6 would not detect the modem no matter what i tried unplugging it power cycling the modem then the x6 I guess thats why i could not access 192.168.100.1 for the modem through the pro gaming router, I think the lan port on the cm1000 might have a short in it or some kinda random glitch since the lights all light up that lan is connected , on the modem and both routers.

Some more info I have updated the router to the current firmware. I first noticed it when it did the setup I had problems with the router decting my modem under internet ip address. All the fields were 0 on the off chance of getting a bad cable with the new modem I just switched it out. I am still having probelms when restarting modem the internet never comes back up even after waiting for 15 minutes.

That maybe down to the router not recognising that your dynamic ip address has changed. Your dynamic ip address changes if your modem roboots itself or manually. I had this happen with my asus router also so I don't think it is a bug or faulty router as once you reboot the router it finds your new ip address and works ok!
You shouldn't be rebooting your modem as that should be left switched on all the time.

The weird thing is when I send a reset signal to the modem cm1000 it will be fully powered up when I try to go to 192.168.100.1 it won’t load the status page. While the light is amber no amount of time will let be accessible . Only way to access it is power cycling the router then everything is fine kinda weird to me. You

Even though it can seem like a modem/router is fully powered up it can take a few minutes after reboot before you can access properly. I don't see any issues here just normal operation.- Danny80916Apr 27, 2018Luminary
