XR500 and Project Stream

Greetings, I am trying to troubleshoot an issue with the XR500 and Google Project Stream. I am streaming Assassins Creed Odyssey from Project Stream and whenever I start to play I receive the following error.  The game gets choppy and then it becomes somewhat unplayable due to the lag.

To Troubleshoot the issue I have to put my pc as the Default DMZ Server and this resolves the issue.

I've also just connected my pc directly to the cable modem and I do not get this connection issue.

This issue only occurs when my pc is connected to the XR500 router.

Geo Filter configured for Spectating Mode

QoS Anti Buffer Bloat = Never

Firmware updated to latest version

I would prefer if I didnt have to place my pc in the DMZ in order to play this game.

Anybody else happen to use this router and also testing out Google Project Stream?

Thanks!

  • As DMZ resolves the issue it is to do with ports. You'll need to find out what ports are required for the service them and then forward them for your PC. You can then take the PC out of DMZ and it'll work.
