XR500 Connectivity Issues, LAN/WIFI/ Philips Hue - 2.5yrs and still no fix
So I have been waiting for almost 2 and a half years for Netgear and the guys at NetDuma to fix the connectivity issues with this router and despite numerous resets and software updates/betas, the on...

We understand your frustration and we are working hard on new firmware to release to you guys. It's currently going through our testing so rest assured it's getting closer and looking better every day.
We'd be happy to do some troubleshooting on the issue you're having with the IoT devices on your network, just let us know exactly what the problem is and we can look into it with you.

So.. after factory reseting and then running set up again things seemed to be going ok. On my iMac, everything seemed to be accessible via wired connection.. Hurrah, however this was also short lived as the Wired devices kept going on and offline intermittently in device manager. So moved to my laptop to see if I could access things via the local IP and the external IPs as well and I could for a split second (via internal IPs for a couple of minutes) and then all access was lost and no access via external IPs at all.
When nothing connected and I was thinking OMG the update has now broken any and all access I had to my NAS Server over wifi on both internal and external IPs. And for 25 minutes I was pulling my hair out as to why this was happening.. I logged on via my phone, it was fine access to libraries etc, Samsung TV had a few issues but I hope to iron those out, so seemed to connect via everything else wirelessly except my Macbook Pro. So I decided to clear my cache and history on my Macbook and hey presto instant connect...only to lose connection 5 minutes later and not to regain it again.. so the problem now was both wired and wifi and now includes both internal and external IPs for me. I never believed this item could be bricked even more than before. Decided to reboot the router and see what happens, Reboot lets me access server via internal IP for about 2 minutes and then nothing. Might have to revert back to an older version so I can actually access my server form an External IP as this is worse than before for me.
So while there is some progress with some devices it seems the connectivity is still an issue now both via internal and external IPs where as before it was and internal IP issue only..Now more of a brick, 8 year old Netgear Router still keeping me sane!
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers

This is probably the worst update I've had for this router to date, can't access anything via internal IPs, and now cant even access things via external IPs. Don't know what they did but whatever DHCP fixes they put in here are definitely not working. đ I honestly give up with Netgear, I have been an avid supporter but time to move on to something else, hopefully someone will want to buy this crappy router (XR500)

I've responded to you in your other topic.

Since factory resetting, can you please go to Settings -> Setup -> LAN Setup and change the starting DHCP IP to 192.168.1.50.
Then, add an IP address reservation for each device on the network. Give each device an IP between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.49.
After that, see if you're still having connectivity issues.

Netduma-Liam Did as you said, only reserved address for my server and kicked everything else off the router as the server is my main issue of being able to connect via all devices and not being able to connect to it is a major problem for work. Still having the same issue.. can't connect, internal IP or not and still drops connection even though it's wired. Downgrading again because thats the only way I can get some sort of workaround to connect via external IPs. This fix did more damage than repair for me. Thanks for trying..
Also it seems even with a downgrade I'm now still intermittently losing wired connection, so thats something new I now have to deal with.
- Netduma-FraserMay 21, 2022NetDuma PartnerI'd suggest re-upgrading again but using the TFTP method, this bypasses the boot process and any issues that might be persisting there through resets. Then once upgraded another factory reset for the cleanest installation possible.
