XR500 Custom VPN?
How can I use my TorGuard VPN configuration on this router? I only see an option for HideMyAss.

Are you travelling with your router? Otherwise choose the provider location with the best location for your home/office location. Amazing these providers are still working on technology from stone-age Internet - nowadays it should not be difficult to provide the best IP address(es) based on the location the requests are coming from nowadays, and also based on the load of these VPN concentrator locations.
We can dispute that say you are located in France that using a French (or even any other EU based) location might be that smart from the legal prospective. Not every difficult to seizure a VPN providers infrastructure - where most are used to hide suspect criminal activities in a certain area anyway - and investigate. Without any user notifiying. (France was just a wild guess btw.)

It was more so I could have the option of changing location if I was trying to watch something on say Netflix or online that is not available in my country. However I do know which is best for my location. Would of just liked the option to easily jump to other location for restricted to certain countries content.... When such a situation arises. Thanks thou. Not a big deal. 🤝

Not sure again Netduma-Fraser Netduma_Jack Netduma_Luke ... wasn't one of the intention for Costom VPN having some policy routing so designated devices on the LAN (by IP, by IP range, ..) can use different VPN gateways?

That's right - you just need to paste one openvpn file into the config file for the server you want to use. You can then decide which device(s) the VPN should apply to, as well as choose the applications you want to go through the VPN (or not).

One OPenVPN config does translate to just a single active OpenVPN session - users expect more, like say a US based VPN provider for Netflix, one on a non-government controlled off-shore whatever service for the P2P hide-my-a**, ... That is what would make it truly hybrid.
- Netduma-FraserMar 19, 2019NetDuma PartnerThat's down to VPN providers, we just provide a client that allows you to apply the VPN to specific devices/services so not everything connected to the router has to be VPN'd

- Netduma-FraserMar 19, 2019NetDuma PartnerThat has never been something requested from us, to allow multiple providers to be connected at once or even multiple locations. I don't think this is a use case for most people.
The kill switch is there currently. We'll likely add the ability to VPN all devices as well in the future but can still be done if all devices are added. - IDdrewSep 06, 2019Aspirant

Unless that is done by firewall or IPtables your protection is imaginary. There will be packet leakage. Also vpn use is a matter of discipline no matter what your purpose - as there are many.
the expressVPN and iVPN OS clients do this well. Poorly done by TorGuard and most others with silliness like 'disable network interface' or 'routing to 0.0.0.0 initiated by script'
expressVPN employs an OpenSource client that is well maintained.
I endorse no specific provider without knowing employment criteria

For Express VPN or other VPN services is it better to enable the Hybrid-VPN kill switch or the killswitch through Tumelblick instead? My focus would be the more secure and reliable option.
- Netduma-FraserSep 21, 2019NetDuma PartnerI would suggest the Hybrid VPN kill switch as I'm not familiar with the Tumelblick option. If you're using the Hybrid VPN then I'm not sure how selecting the option elsewhere would work.
