Xr500 drops connection A LOT like, holy crap
I've been searching the forums for an answer and trying all sorts of stuff but this thing just cannot keep a connection, sometimes going in and out half a dozen times in a hour. Sometimes stays on for...

Mine has been doing this as well since I bought it last year. Only seems to do it when I have multiple devices connected. When I only use 1 device, absolutley no problems what so ever. But, if I connect a second device, by wired or wireless, I constantly lose connection. I have been searching everywhere for an answer. Hopefully netgear will respond to this thread and provide an updated firmware fix for this. I have had to call their "help" center in India more times than I can remember. Its at least twice a month. And all they seem to do is have you power cycle everything over and over again until you can get connected. They don't do anything to solve your issue. Just prolong it. I'm looking for an actual fix. No more bandaids please. Getting very tired off having to reboot constantly.

Something for us to look into, thank you. I'm confident that the next firmware will make up for the absence of updates and alleviate peoples issues.
- bigmickjeansMay 21, 2020AspirantI have disconnected most of the devices in my home like smart TVs cameras and smart thermostat. Only computers and phones, then I went into up setting and set each to have a reserved up, I didn't change the IPs on the devices just had the router reserve one. It's been 2 days with no drops so I think this weekend it will slowly add on devices and reserve ips for them as I do. Fingers crossed it works, if not I will try for a replacement. Eventually I would like to turn some of the setting back one and would really prefer to not have to reserve every device or have issues, we will see.
- bigmickjeansMay 21, 2020AspirantDamn autocorrect, up = ip. Yeesh.
- Netduma-FraserMay 21, 2020NetDuma PartnerThat's usually one of our suggestions for an issue like this so fingers crossed it continues to work fine and would agree to seek a replacement if it doesn't.
