XR500 how to schedule a daily reboot or a DHCP renewal ?
Hello, My XR500 looses my ISP gateway, DNS and DHCP server almost every 24 hours. The result is a loss of internet connection. I have two ways to reconnect : 1) in DumasOS menu, i go to Sett...

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200

Hello,
Thanks for your answer. I appreciate your help but I’m not trying to debug the problem anymore. I already spent so many days and nights trying to solve all the XR500’s bugs (wifi not accessing local lan, dhcp lease changes, internet disconnection). I read all the posts regarding these problems, I already applied dhcp range, firwmare downgrade, hardware reset, firmware upgrade, praied for god’s sake and tried to put a voodoo spell on my router just to make it do the job it is designed for 😉
Finally, I gave up and I’m just looking for a workaround. A daily reboot solves the problem so i want to go for it if it is technically possible.

There isn't anything available in the software to schedule a reboot every so often.
The solution to this problem for most people is to change the DHCP pool as mentioned, then reserve an IP address for every device in the network. After that, you shouldn't be experiencing the problem anymore.

Hello,
thanks for your answer.
I already set up a DHCP range from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.200 for devices configured in DHCP mode. The devices that need to have fixed IP's are set up below this range.
Do you mean that all the devices on my network should have a fixed IP or only the ones which need it ?If it is for all devices, it should be easier to disable entirely the DHCP server on the XR500. I have another router connected to it as a wifi access point. Maybe i could enable DHCP server on my other router and disable it on the XR500.
I'll give it a try.
Really this router does not worth the money. To be obliged to disable functionnalities and get another router (quarter the price of XR500) to get the job done is really a huge disappointment 😓

I'd suggest reserving IPs for every device on the network to be safe.
We're aware this is a bit of a long workaround, it's just a solution to the problem while ourselves/NETGEAR work on identifying the root cause of the issue and fix that.
