XR500 in a lan to lan configuration - how to get the ntp working?
In order to get a few devices, eg printers, to work across the house, i set my XR500 up in a lan to lan configuation with the ISP modem/router. Modem/router is at 192.168.1.1, and XR500 is at 192.168...

"that"? In a forum like this, pronouns can get detached from their
antecedents.
The hypothetical problem is that the router expects to contact an NTP
server using its WAN/Internet interface, whether it's in router mode or
WAP mode. That shouldn't be a problem for the documented WAP mode,
which uses the WAN/Internet interface for the connection to the
main-router LAN, but would be for your ad-hoc "lan to lan configuation".

Features which involve router functions don't work when the router is
disabled/bypassed. "Many added features", like, say, shared
USB-attached storage, shouldn't care. As that "Disabled Features" KB
article says.

Define "much else"? I'd go by the list in that KB article, and not
by vague assertions about "many added features" or "much else".
