- MikedubyaaJul 31, 2018AspirantI'm having the same problem. Router in most recent firmware. Is this possibly and older more stable firmware?

My issue seems similar but maybe slightly different. My PS4 Pro will randomly report that the "LAN cable has been disconnected" XR500. It never loses the connection for very long, most often just a split second. I have the most recent firmware V2.3.2.32 running. When this problem first started happening I bought a brand new Cat6 as I figured that was the problem.
The only support I have left at this time is hardware and these forums. I'm not paying to get support for a faulty product that should have worked right from day one. So hopefully I can find some help here, otherwise I'll have to return this modem which I really don't want to do.

Hi - have you tried using a different Ethernet port on the router in case there is a faulty one?
Also, have you raised a ticket with NETGEAR's official support? If you raise a case there, they will be able to give you full support too.

Honestly, don't waste your time with NETGEAR support, it's an even bigger joke than these forums.
Take notice of all these threads with the issue that has been going on for numerous users over the past month or so, RETURN THE ROUTER!
NETGEAR/Netduma aren't taking us seriously. What kind of half-ass support still doesn't release a fix for this? People have been complaining over a month.
If you value your time and your money (and even respect yourself a little bit) you'd return this joke of a router. Is Geo-Filtering alone worth $100 to you? I sure hope not.
Also, take notice of ALL the topics that are now pinned to the top. There was never this many before (nor does there need to be even half of them) and none of them are even new, they are trying to hide all the issues with this product lower on the page so you have to scroll down. It's a scum company.
- Netduma-FraserNov 20, 2018NetDuma PartnerWe (Netduma) have escalated it as far as we can, the issue isn't in our code base so we can't do anything about it. Its not an easy fix for them otherwise they would have.
- Ozzmanj1Feb 03, 2019AspirantHello I have a xr500 I bought just hours ago and it seems the lan ports are not working. Plug in one of three laptops into the router and nothing. WiFi works but nothing else. May I please get the firmware? Thank you.

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?Swap LAN cables and LAN ports in back to see if anything works?
Try a factory reset and setup from scratch with a wired PC connected to one of the LAN ports in back? Do you get a front LAN port LED inidication after you do the reset?

Helly my modem is a netgear CM700. I hace tried about a dozen different ethernet cables. If I, for example, connect my ps3 via ethernet to my NG XR500 it connects to the internet. But if I have it go though my 8 port switch (trendnet), it only shows up on the network map as offline, along with all other devices connected to that 8 port switch.
I have tried different cables to and form my 8 port switch t the NG XR500, and nothig seems to work. Also I am still testing, but it seems that the lights are not indicating when I connect an ethernet cable into lan ports 3 & 4.
I have spent hours fighting with this. Any assistance would be appreciated
- DalDestructoMar 07, 2019AspirantCan I please also have a copy of the firmware? Bought a router a day ago, and it won't recognise neither my Xbox nor my pc

I spent hours on the phone. NETGEAR said they have never heard of this problem. I was told to send it in for repairs... i told them i bought it from best buy, and that i will exhange it right then and there tomorrow, then call netgears engineers back.. clearly this is not a priority on one of their most expensive residential routers.
