XR500 Problems
My old R7000 is having problems so I drove an hour to get the XR500 that I've heard amazing things about. I installed the antennas as labeled, restarted my modem, and plugged in. Within a few minutes...

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

I don't know the firmware loaded because I can't get anything to open up. Routerlogin.net does nothing. My modem is an Arris CM3200. I can't change channels or any settings because the router is apparently DOA. The internet light is on but it's not receiving internet. The modern is fine because I plug the line right back into the old router and the internet works. We have neighbors but never pick up their WiFi.
Just plugging up the XR500 should put out wireless but it doesn't. Hooking up via Ethernet does nothing either, I can't get anything to work or setup.

With the XR router disconnected from the modem and 1 wired PC connected to the XR router, press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release. Give it a minute or two then open a web browser and see if you can access the routers web page at 192.168.1.1

For the first time when I plugged up just how I saw the 2.4 network. I still followed your directions. Finally got a Netgear page that says "To avoid a conflict with your ISP, your router's IP address was updated." Then when I click continue, I'm brought to a page that says "No internet"
I tried to reset, held the button down for 15 seconds and nothing happened. The lights never went off. I did a reset last night and it took 20 minutes to power back on.
When I got to the Netgear page and then it said No internet, I decided to plug in and see if it would work but it didn't. It just caused the 2.4 that was there to disappear.

Ok I recommend returning the XR router to where you got it and get another. Or contact NG support and ask for an RMA if thats an option for you.
