XR500 QoS works on my device but not on others in the network
Greetings, I've had the xr500 for a while and it helped tremendously to reduce my lag spikes, but lately they started coming back so I started investigating. My sliders are set to 85% down (4...

Yes, it's on always.
I'm not sure but Network Manager says Web -> Google. Would that even make a difference? Isn't it supposed to always restrict speed?
No, the only priotized things are DumaOS classified games.
Yes, I did notice high priority traffic being detected even tho I didn't have any games open at the time.
Thanks for the quick response

It would appear that whatever the Mac is doing is being categorised as high priority traffic by mistake, as such it's then superseeding the limitations set in Congesiton Control and using full bandwidth. If you can let us know exactly what the Mac is doing at this time, we should be able to work out what's incorrectly categorised.
To verify this, disable DumaOS classified games and make a new rule for the device you game on. For the time being, just select a basic config profile for whatever game you're playing (if applicable) and that should solve the problem.

I will make sure to check next time it happens.
I'm not sure I understand, if something gets categorized as high priority traffic it can bypass the speed limitations? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of QoS?
The basic list doesn't have any games I play unfortunately. I could try not having any traffic prioritization rules to see if that's the problem.

OK thanks!
All other devices and protocols will be limited, it's only the protocols that are considered priority will have access the full bandwidth.
OK, what game are you playing? We may be able to find the ports it uses and create a custom rule.

Hi,
Today I did some more testing and noticed that DumaOS classified games detects high priority traffic when I have Discord open, so at this point I don't know if the Mac was able to use the full bandwidth due to it being prioritized or because of something else entirely.
I usually play Destiny 2 and Warframe.
