XR500 set up as AP does not show in main router device manager

Hello,

I have 2 XR500 routers. One acts as the main router dhcp server and the second one I changed its mode to Access Point by going into the settings. I know I'm limiting its capabilities as an AP but I just want more signal extension throughout my house and although it works fine I'm curious as to why the XR500 that's setup as an Access Point does not show in the main router's Device Manager. I should be able to see it just like I see other devices that the main router is handing out IP addresses to, no?

  • I believe that the access point itself won't appear. Any devices that are connected to the AP will appear in the first XR500's device manager, but the AP itself will not.

Also, forgot to mention that I made the SSID in the Access point the same as the main router. So you're saying other devices should show? I don't see any devices connected to the ACCESS POINt at all.

You would see the devices appearing on the main XR500 that is handling DHCP. They would appear as though they are just connected to that router, same IP subnet.
