XR500 Wireguard
I can get the hybrid vpn working with openvpn however can't seem to get wireguard going, should it work? I was planning to use surfshark as the vpn provider. - if the xr500 isn't working with wiregu...
Which firmware version are you currently on? Do you actually see the Wireguard option under the Advanced Setup on HybridVPN?

- Ah okay, it's not implemented currently, you would see it at the top of the config box with a menu for VPN Type to switch between OpenVPN and Wireguard. You'll have to continue using OpenVPN for the moment.
is there any beta/alpha firmware in which it is implemented? It sounds like you were expecting it to already be there!
- Perceptive! It's not currently available and it was something we were working on but it was causing some pretty major issues, if we can resolve them then it will be implemented. If not then it might be something we have to defer.
