Try resetting your modem, then rebooting your XR500. Does it obtain an Internet connection after this?
If not, can you set your modem into bridge mode or modem mode and try again?
Finally, if that doesn't work, try factory resetting your XR500. Going through the initial setup will allow it to auto-detect your connection type.

Thank you all for the help. I tried all of that and am still having the same problem so I am having my internet company come out to see if it is a connection problem on thier end. I just had it installed last saturday so they belive the orginal installer screwed up somewhere so they are sending one of their suppervisers for free to fix it.
