Have you tried doing a factory reset on the device? Its always a good idea to do a reset after a firmware update. Especially if there's been a lot of changes. This is the manual. Page 182 walks you through the factory reset.

ok have tried that , it’s taken an age to get to the log in page , it’s now showing 214.26 Download and 8.80 upload , so I’ve accepted them , now moved on to set up WiFi , which I’ve left as Is , now got it as far as dumaos screen
