Remove the static IP address from the xbox and set it for automatic. Set a IP address reservation for the xbox ON the router.
How is the xbox connected? Wired or Wireless?
Disable "Instant ON" feature on the xbox. This is known to cause problems between xbox and routers.
wired, netduma jack looked at my system log last time and said type in the ip address on the xbox manually, then go to lang in the router and reserve that specific ip address,the xbox had a 8 at the end of the ip address was the only diffrence from my other devices. it worked great for almost 2 weeks that ive had the router untill i flipped my breaker turning the power off to the house and every thing in it.
and ive never had instant on on. lol
i dont know if I set a static ip ? i went in xbox network copyed the ip address and mac address.... and then entered it manually so it wont change every time i turned on xbox , then went into lang in router and reserved that number and it fixed the problem. [ is that setting a static ip address?]
A static IP address is an address set ON the xbox or any other device. Not the router. A reserved IP address is an IP address that is set ON the router for a device. Using this, one needs to ensure that the device is set for Automatic IP addressing and remove any static IP addresses ON the device. Do not input a IP address on the xbox with a reserved IP address. This can cause problems and is not normal networking methodology.
ok,so should i go into lan in router and delete the reserved ip address?
