XR700 Wifi disconnects
Hi all,
I am continuously getting wifi dropouts for certain devices. If i reboot the router or disconnect the device from the wifi it may connect again or may not ...only to disconnect a few m...

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Might try downgrading to v20...

Okay that usually indicates an issue upstream. Set the XR700 MAC address to the MAC address of the previous router you used that got full speeds. Apply then reboot the router and retry the test.

This is the only router I have used since upgrading my speed to gigabit service.

And when you upgraded to gigabit service did they provide you with a new modem?
- logan_001May 22, 2019AspirantNo I own my modem. It's only about 5 months old. I had Xfinity come out yet again and it seems my speeds are where they need to be. I am still having problems with the XR700. Devices are losing connection and in order to reconnect I have to reboot the router, which would be fine except i have most of my house has smart light switched, bulbs, echos etc and I have to manually connect them every time. Seems maybe there is a problem with DHCP.

Your smart devices don't reconnect by themselves?
- logan_001May 22, 2019AspirantNo and they should. I have set up as many as I can with static IP's but it didn't help.
- Netduma-FraserMay 22, 2019NetDuma PartnerCould you downgrade to the .20 version and see if that resolves both the issues please?
- logan_001May 24, 2019AspirantOk I am currently running the 1.0.1.10 version
- Netduma-FraserMay 28, 2019NetDuma PartnerDid downgrading resolve your issue?
- logan_001Jun 01, 2019AspirantNo it did not. It seems to happen about every 7 days. Everything disconnects and only a few devices can obtain a valid ip. Then I have to factory reset the router and connect every device again.
- Netduma-FraserJun 01, 2019NetDuma PartnerOkay so that could be around the time the DHCP lease renews. By any chance do the devices that still work have a static IP set?
- logan_001Jun 01, 2019AspirantNo. It seems random. It looks like devices start grabbing IP's and get about 10 devices. After that they stop and if you try to connect something else(tablet, phone, game console) they say cant connect to your DHCP t try rebooting your router. That doesnt work.
- Netduma-FraserJun 02, 2019NetDuma PartnerHow big is your DHCP pool of IP addresses to choose from? E.g. 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.250
- logan_001Jun 02, 2019AspirantI have tried a variety of ranges. .10-.100, .100-.200, .50-.150 and then entire range.
- Netduma-FraserJun 02, 2019NetDuma PartnerThat's very odd and you say a reboot doesn't resolve it? If you apply the LAN Settings again does that kick it into action? Also how are you using WiFi, smart connect or connecting individually? HT160, MUMIMO?
- logan_001Jun 02, 2019AspirantA reboot does not resolve it. The only thing that resolves it fully is to reset the router and connect each device again. I am using smart connect. MU-NIMO is checked and enable 160 is not checked. I have never mess with the last two. I just used what defaults were.
- Netduma-FraserJun 02, 2019NetDuma PartnerOkay disable smart connect and connect individually to 2.4 or 5GHz and see if that helps at all.
- logan_001Jun 02, 2019AspirantMost devices still do not connect..even after a few reboots. I will have to factory reset again to get everything to connect. I will try that later then turn off the smart connect.
- Netduma-FraserJun 02, 2019NetDuma PartnerOkay keep us updated please!
- logan_001Jun 11, 2019AspirantSame issue. It happens about 7 days on the dot. I even bought a new modem thinking there was a communication issue.
- logan_001Jun 11, 2019AspirantSo a weird thing happened. I rebooted the router thru the interface and everything came back online. The weird thing is now the interface is messed up. It's like it is shifted over and I cant see everything, also I'm getting an error that says "This R-app is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute. " None of the R-apps are loading.

Hmm... Have you tried incognito mode in your browser? Or any other browsers? Or any other devices? Are the results the same when you try to connect from all of these?
- logan_001Jun 13, 2019AspirantI had to do a hard reset again to get things to work.
- Netduma-FraserJun 13, 2019NetDuma PartnerGlad to hear it's working now, keep us updated if it happens again.
- logan_001Jun 17, 2019AspirantI'm really getting frustrated with this router. Most R-apps do not load. I have tried from laptops, cell phones, ipad, chrome, ie, and edge. Half the time the router doesnt work the other half it doesnt work like it should. How do I get the R-apps to work properly??? Am I the only one that has these issues?
