Mine is in AP Mode, however even if it wasn't my WAN side is upstream of a hardware firewall product that doesn't allow anything inbound except for my VPN. I do run an Intrusion Detection System on my firewall however, and I can tell you that it's literally being pounded by queries of all sorts on a per minute basis all year long. They hit all the common ports constantly, 21, 22, 25, 80, 443, 3389, as well as countless others, which is a good reason not to have those open on the WAN unless you have taken steps to mitigate possible exploit.
