Months after my support call being put on hold I had to reply within 24 hours to have my case answered. I was on holiday abroad so had less access to my email. The case was automatically closed. So netgear is not replying to this forum (see above) or their ticket system. I will never ever again buy or recommend netgear.
Leaving 2fa disabled and using a long random password will keep me safe for as long as I keep using the product. Until I replace it with something else.

For the record. I could try to create a new account with a new email but am hesitant because I will probably need to reset my network which will take a lot of time and effort.
