Grey network indicator in orbi app
Does anyone know what it means in devices when a network indicator is shown as grey, in my case it is an apple device shown under 5 + 6Ghz ( no idea which one since all devices are accounted for). ...

Can only think of it being a low signal level maybe.
How close is the device to the RBR or RBS?

I don't think so.
I just looked and everything on the first floor connected to Satellite-1 was grey and now they are all green.
Can it be old data? like the last time we pinged or somehitng is was full coverage so you get a grey icon?
Would be nice if there was a manual somewhere with this info, so you know what you are looking at and what it means.

Possible. Data getting refreshed over time.
Ya, I agree, would be nice to have some info on what it means.

I suspect an issue with the Orbi 'app'. When the user selects "Device Manager", the Orbi app queries the Orbi router to get information about all connected devices. As I sit here five feet from the Orbi RBR50 router, the Orbi web Attached Devices screen shows that I am connected to an RBS40V satellite in the garage, some 20 ft. and three walls away.
So many disappointments;
- That the S24 phone did not roam from that connection to a stronger one. (sigh)
- That the web Attached Devices screen gives no indication of the signal level of the connection. Every device connected with WiFi has the same 2.4G or 5G symbol. (WiFi5 Orbi does not support WiFi6 thus no WiFi6 symbols.)
- That the S24 phone itself does not display the Link Rate of the WiFi connection as my old phone did.I am a bit disappointed that my new Samsung S24 phone does not display the WiFi "Link Rate" (Oh, well. New phone: new experience. The internet claims there is a method to display Link Rate on this phone but I am finding it difficult to enable.)
- That the Orbi 'app' displays the WiFi connection as pathetic. (only the little green dot. no 'bars' at all)
See these screen shots:
A) The S34 phone shows the connection as GREAT (all bars)
B) The Orbi 'app' shows the connection as TERRIBLE, only the green dot. (no bars)
C) The Orbi 'app' detail screen shows the Link Rate at 866Mbps (the highest possible Link Rate for a WiFi5 connection) and still thinks the connection is TERRIBLE.
UPDATE:
After disconnecting/reconnecting/.... etc. The S24 now (finally) shows as connected to the RBR50 that is five feet away with "Full Bars" on the Orbi 'app' display.
