How to FIX Orbi app not connecting
Hi all,
For a very long time I had an issue with connecting to my Orbi using the iOS app.
This was happening from time to time, but as time went by the app became useless forcing me to restart my router every few weeks, down to once a week, down to every time I tried to use the app.
This wasn't solved by Netgear and I saw a lot of discussions with not real soultion - and for me restoring and re-configuring my network was out of the question!
So, I set myself to solve this, trying anything and everything I found on the web with no luck.
Finally I found something that worked, and is working for me for a couple of months.
Remove the app - but with an additional important step + cleaning the alerts did it for me.
*** DO THIS UNDER YOUR OWN RISK***
Here are the steps (done on my iPhone)
1. Delete stored Orbi files from iCloud - this is a mandatory step that if skipped will get you right back to the same issue later on. The option can be found under your iCloud settings > Manage Storage > Orbi - Delete Data from iCloud
2. Remove the app from your device.
3. Reinstall the Orbi app
4. Login to your account
As you use the app, make sure to clear every alert by swiping on each and selecting delete each and every time you seen and have no more need of that alert. This will prevent the app from storing them which (IMOP) creates the issue for not connecting.
As mentioned I never had an issue with connecting to my router after doing the above.
I hope that this will help you, sorry of it wouldn't 🙂
