Is the 'connected devices' view in the app broken?
Hello, I have a 3 story home, ground floor my RBR870 is placed and the other 2 floor both have an RBS, the network map shows how the devices are connected. What is not logical: RBR (ground floor)...

Crasje I thought you would enjoy this, I found it in one of my bug reports on the device list. Everything on my network was wired and attached to the router! So while I gave you some things to dig in to if you are so inclined, my advice would be not to worry about it if the network is otherwise running well - connections solid, speeds good, etc.
I have learned not to trust the device report if something there is odd or in conflict with other data, objective or subjective, I perceive about my network!

I am going to see what connects to what when I restart the strangely connected devices. See if they then still connect to the wrong device.
I now have a 2.4hgz electricity socket thing (i can remotely control) on the second floor in my home office that is connected to the ground floor router.
No wonder the linkrate was 1mbps this morning and 43 mbps now. Anything else on the same floor has at least 500-700mbps (I have a 1 GB i-net connection)

Update, i shut of 2 of the devices that were strangely connected. After restarting them 1 is now connected to the logical (closest) Orbi device. 1 is not.
The link rate of the devices that are connected to the wrong Orbi are relatively low. In the 40's and 50's while the other devices on the Orbi on that floor have 400-500mbs.
I am going to disconnect the 1 that is still connected wrong for a longer time (an hour) to see if that makes a difference.
For me is clear, that if this connection devices data and link rate are correct that the Netgear optimization software is not working correctly.

The second device kept connected to a Orbi device on another floor.
I received 2 beta updates from Netgear but so far no positive result.
In the living room my ipad was connected to the 1st floor RBE while my Phone was (correctly) conneted to the closer RBE so I did a speedtest. If the speedtest showed the same speed for both devices the issue is in the display of the connected devices if not, it is in the handover logic.
I found that my iphone had 800mb/s and my ipad 600mb/s
My conclusion is that the iPad is connected to the wrong Orbi and it shows in the speed of the connection. Which is quite a serious issue since in my example it negativly impacts the connection by 25% reduction in speed
