Not a problem. That's how it works. You have a local access connection with Orbi app to the system and then you'll see a Anywhere Access connection for when your home or away at a remote location, which you can access the system remotely.

I agree that the Orbi app functions when showing both the local connection and Anywhere Access on the app. What I have never understood is the reasoning behind choosing to use the Anywhere Access connection when the device running the Orbi app is connected locally.
What can be gained by sending every data packet through the Netgear Cloud rather than keeping the connection on the LAN? This cannot be faster. Consumer user internet data for no purpose.
My sense is that (just a guess), Netgear programmed the Orbi app to connect first through Anywhere Access and then look to see if the router can be found on the LAN. Notice the wording "Local connection available."

Even that doesn't always work for me.
Puzzlingly, when I am "Connected Locally" I lose the option to "Connect via Anywhere Access".

Me too. Android.
But I have the Nighthawk app.
My Orbi stuff is sitting on a shelf.
