Same issue on mine but with my Amazon fire tv stick. Called Netgear help support and they tried to tell me I have to pay $250 to remove the threats since my network has become compromised from the vulnerabilities even with Netgear armor active.

What telephone number did you call?
That does not sound like a response from Netgear. Sounds more like one of those companies that pop up on internet searches for "Netgear Support" (of which there are many who have nothing to do with Netgear).

I was handed directly to an IT associate who looked over my network and said he had to hand me off to level 5 tech support specialist because the network was compromised and it would cost over $200 to fix it and he charged a $50 referral fee. I hung up on him instantly because it sounded like he was trying to scam me. Net gear outsources all their IT help to India and it appalls me. What happened to hiring someone who could actually understand the customer and was trustworthy? All these Indians do is try and scam me or tell ME they can’t understand me and hang up even though I speak English perfectly. Sick of this awful company and their trash products they break after a month of normal use.

- mikevollmer98Nov 27, 2021AspirantIt is the my.net gear.com/products.aspx page where you can see your current products and contact support either through phone, chat, or email. I chose the chat option but as I’m looking at the case that was opened when I contacted them originally, it has no details saved about it which sounds kind of sketchy considering I was on the phone for about 2 hours with this guy after he closed the initial online chat and called me. He provided a phone number and some info about the issue that I didn’t quite understand but he had access to my system and deleted it before I could copy it down anywhere when I started to get upset about the charges he was trying to force on me. He kept saying he couldn’t understand me and was talking down to me several times saying I needed to “listen to (him)” and pay the fees so he could fix the vulnerabilities with my product. I just want to talk to someone in English and get this fixed because my product has been disconnecting about once a day since purchase and I still cannot access it from the Orbi app on my phone.

Sadly, there are nasty people out there who pay to get to the top of web searches for things like "Netgear support". They are no such thing, even though they slap Netgear images and logos all over their sites.
If this was what hit you, then let us know what that web site was and someone can pass on the details so that Netgear can set its legal attack dogs on the case.

I remain confused.https://my.netgear.com/products.aspx does not show any Chat option for me or lead me to a Chat option.
Since every Netgear product I own is well past the 90 day support limit, this could be because there is no point in showing me a Chat option if I have nothing that qualifies for support.
Have attempted internet search for "Netgear chat support", but no luck.
GetHuman seems to believe that Netgear does not support Live Chat: https://gethuman.com/chat/Netgear
I can believe that one of the internet companies paid an Ad fee to get their "Netgear Support" URL listed at the top on searches which will draw people to them, but I cannot reconcile that with the URL being https://my.netgear.com/products.aspx
What am I missing?
