orbi app 2 factor authenticator issues

Hello. I recently purchased a new phone and I am currently in the process of selling my old one (I still have access to it) I am trying to set my new phone as the primary device so I can remove my old phone before i sell it, however I am unsure of how to do this. When i first installed the orbi app on my new phone it attempted to send a push notification to my old one due to 2 factor being on. However, after trying for several days the push notification will not send through to my old phone. I contacted apple and they said since I was receiving push notifications from all my other apps that it was an issue with the orbi app and out of their control. I turned off two factor on my old phone so i could install the app on my new phone. However, the issue i have ran into now is that i cant figure out how to remove my old phone as the primary and add the new one instead. Any help would be greatley appreciated because until this resolves i will not be able to turn 2 factor on. Also i apologize if i am posting in the incorrect location. For some reason the only thing i was able to select was orbi wifi6.
