ORBI App does not ask for Local Network access permission with IOS 14.2 so can't use the app at all
It appears that there is a problem with IOS 14.2 either as a new OS issue for asking for Local network access or the app is not doing it. Can not use the app at all because of this.
- Sep 21, 2020Reinstalled several times with the same issue. BUT, I stumbled upon a fix: I installed the nighthawk app and when I installed it did ask for permission for local network access. Because I don’t have a nighthawk, I got the same error/issue but then when I deleted the nighthawk app and reinstalled the orbi app, it worked and asked for local network access. So, my problem is solved and maybe this will work for someone else.

and getting these stupid badges for being a 'poster' when I am just on here trying to find a solution to an app issue is just insulting.

I found this response in another thread. Looks like it was from the 5th - but it worked for me getting the phone to accept the app and open for me. This post is from another user.

Folks,
I spoke to the Netgear support team post waiting for an hour & a half on the call
This is a known bug in Orbi mobile app for IOS 14 and their technical team is looking in to this. There is workaround for this is..
1. Open the Orbi app and login providing your credientials
2. Sign in using two factor authentication
3. During step to trust the mobile device, click on dont trust and proceed
4. You will be able to get in to the Orbi app.
This is working for me and I can access the Orbi model features using Orbi mobile app. Trust this helps..
