ORBI App does not ask for Local Network access permission with IOS 14.2 so can't use the app at all
It appears that there is a problem with IOS 14.2 either as a new OS issue for asking for Local network access or the app is not doing it. Can not use the app at all because of this.
- Sep 21, 2020Reinstalled several times with the same issue. BUT, I stumbled upon a fix: I installed the nighthawk app and when I installed it did ask for permission for local network access. Because I don’t have a nighthawk, I got the same error/issue but then when I deleted the nighthawk app and reinstalled the orbi app, it worked and asked for local network access. So, my problem is solved and maybe this will work for someone else.

I tried your method and 101 other things on my iPhone 14.2 but still get the "WiFi Not Detected" message. Local Network is enabled in the Orbi app settings. I can connect via Anywhere Access but a number of other apps do not work while using it griping about WiFi Not Detected. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Finally got that dude to work. I'm not sure what triggered it but I might have been the result of me finding and removing an old Netgear Geni app, removing the Orbi app, restarting the iphone and reloading the Orbi app. I chose the install new equipment option, when went through shutting down the cable modem and the orbi, restarting the modem and then the Orbi, and its app and followed the instructions. It had a problem finding the wifi network but while trying this and that something triggered admin login display. I logged in as admin and everything began running as it should.
