Orbi app signin with 2-step verification is not working

I no longer have access to the email address that was used to setup 2-step verification.  The sms option shows my phone number but will not proceed when selected.  I updated and verified my new email address in my account at netgear.com.  But the Orbi App still has my old email address.  What needs to be done to get my new email in sync?  And also have texting option to work?
