ORBI App Vs Browser Login.

Hi there

When I log onto the ORBI App (from My MacBook) and I log onto the router via Safari (from the same MacBook) I see two different things.

App login (NOTE: it says via anywhere access). It shows the network config correct. i.e. internet to RBE771 and 771 to each other the two 770's. BUT here is the clanger: if I look at "Connected Devices" I see "Netgear-AXE11000 Orbi 960 6E Mesh" with ethernet connection.  If I select that it show the IP of the ROUTER. Also if I click on the pick of the router from the app I see the network map. if I click on the second satellite it shows me the router connected via ethernet but again labels it as the Orbi 960...

For the record if I back out of the app and connect locally I get the same results.

Browser login shows me what I believe is correct. i.e. there is no reference to an orbi 960 (I don't have one).

NOTE - I am logged on to the app using anywhere access.

RBE771 (3 pack), two RBE770 Satellites.

All running V10.5.18.3

Set up from scratch. I did change the SSID and PWD to align to old network.

Satellites are each individually connected to router via ethernet (Backhaul).

Router in Router mode.  Full fibre connection.

I ask all of this because I am unsure if there is an issue with the app or with my setup of the Orbi...

thanks and have a great day.

  • How did you get Orbi app installed on a Mac Book. I thought Orbi app is only for phones and Pads?

Are you looking at the RBRs web page at 192.168.1.1 in a web browser?

Do you have on the the one Orbi 770 series or do you have a 960 series?

Please post screen captures of what your seeing.

FURRYe38 look there -> Use iPhone and iPad apps on Mac with Apple silicon - that says it all.

scottmark271 does the App show the same when used from an iPhone or iPad? And then is there a difference while using from the local [W]LAN or while using from remote with the Anywhere access? I would not be concerned to much about the wrong model indication, this is almost certainly an Orbi App issue - as log as the local Orbi Web UI does show the appropriate model and model description.

  • I don’t have an iPad unfortunately.
same seen on iPhone and MacBook via app.

No difference accessing via local or anywhere access (just tried it from my work office).

browser (safari) shows the correct view I.e. two satellites
