ORBI70 phone app acting insanely
"(Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)" There is no model number on the router. I have no idea what firmware it uses. I did have that on ...

When Orbi routers leave the factory, they each have a default set of WiFi credentials (SSID and password). These are printed on the label on the bottom of the router. The default SSID is the letters "ORBI" plus a two digit number, and the password is a combination of common words plus a number, such as crazymonkey23.
That product label should also display the actual product number, such as RBR750. (The second R standing for "Router")
Yes, the Orbi 'app' can be frustrating. I, myself, NEVER use the app unless I am attempting to answer a question on the forum.
When any device is connected to the router, such as the Windows 10 PC or the iPhone, the Orbi web management page can be found at http://orbilogin.net , which the router translates into its own address: usually 192.168.1.1
That brings up the web management system. The default user name is "admin" (and cannot be changed). The default password was originally "password", but you were probably forced to change it during the original setup. (hope you remember it)
Could you please look at the product label again and see if it has anything similar to "RBRxxx"?

No RBRxxx anywhere on the router. I tried the link you gave but couldn't connect.
I don't know what this means or what to do about it. I never got it before but do now after I changed the setting to use http:// on this very page.

(sorry for the delay. had to watch my old college football team lose in a bowl game. not fun.)
Modern browsers have a phobia about unencrypted web sites (http rather than https) "Not Secure. Go Back! Go Back!"
Well, in this case, you are trying to connect to a web server that you own on your own network. There is a link at the bottom of the page offering "proceed to orbilogin.net" Click on that and the browser will remember and not bug you any more.
This is the second report on the forum of an Orbi router not having a product number on it. Is there a label on the bottom of the router? could you take a picture of the label and post it. (Feel free to hide the serial number)
Here's a picture of one of my Orbi router labels
Notice how the factory WiFi Network Name (SSID) is ORBI63 and the WiFi password is brightgiant781. (I have since changed both of them.) The product number is RBR750

I feel for you. It was tough for me to watch my Georgia Bulldogs lose to Alabama in the SEC Championship. But 29 wins isn't a bad run and nobody wins forever.
I found the link to proceed to it under advanced but just got a different error message:
I did find the Model on the bottom of the router. It is RBR10. I can barely get to the router and have to stand with my strongest readers on while holding it up with the wires fighting me. Also, I have to hold a magnifying glass and my brightest flashlight to read anything on it. The model is a grey font printed on the cream-colored router. Being 73 is quite difficult sometimes.
Since the units are providing me great range on my wireless network I would be happy to just trash the phone app except for a couple of problems. It will not let me add a password to the guest network and the guest network is the only network two Roku LTs I have will connect to. That wouldn't be a problem except I have a neighbor who is a real piece of work and keeps signing everything in his household to my network. I assume through the guest network. I have it turned off now but only have one older Roku that will connect to the regular network so that is a temporary solution. If a solution at all. Now Netgear's Amour/Bitfinder is checking out my neighbor's phones to see if they are 'protected'. I've already canceled my renewal as I am getting no protection, just hassles from it.
I am retired living on social security or I would have bought a different system than this refurbished $45 router with 2 satellites. I certainly would return it to Walmart now if I could afford something better.
I'm afraid you have given me all the help a normal person would need but I seem to have unusual weird problems that others don't seem to have. I thank you for your efforts to help. I appreciate it.
