The Orbi 'app' appears to function entirely by making Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) calls to the router. When the app displays information, that information came through those SOAP calls rather than from independent action on the part of the app. When it is plain as day that the internet connection IS working the app simply doesn't know. (It would seem to be almost trivial for the app to 'find out', but that's not the way it works.) With one group busy altering the router firmware, another group (person?) maintaining the iOS version of the app, and another group maintaining the Android version of the app, there are some rather obvious opportunities for miscommunication.
Although people have asked Netgear for documentation explaining the SOAP calls, none has appeared. (Trade Secret?)
I just went to check the Android version and found:
- First, the app reported "All is good"
- Internet connected
- 3 Satellites connected
- 37 Devices connected, and then...
- Oops. We cannot find your router. and then....
- Please enter login information
- Suggesting "admin" for user name (???)
- Suggesting an email I have not used for YEARS
- I put in the correct information
- Finally, "All is good."
Seems like every time the Android app updates (Google Play), it forgets my credentials, but shows status before actually checking anything.

What is the time span between "supposed delay"? Today I was getting updates to the app every 10-30 seconds.
